Let’s face it: that shiny sequin top isn’t going to look great next to pasty dull skin at your upcoming New Years party! Lucky for you, we’ve put together 4 quick steps to achieving glowing skin that will compliment any attire.
Step 1. Reveal Brighter, Softer Skin.
Low humidity outside plus heat inside can leave skin dry and rough. Of course the best facial resurfacing procedures include lasers and in-office treatments but you can do basic exfoliating scrubs at home. We recommend SkinCeuticals Micro-Exfoliating Scrub that contains natural microbeads with gentle cleansing and hydrating agents to thoroughly cleanse pores and promote healthy cell renewal. But if you have a great sugar or grain-based scrub at home, use in the shower to refine rough areas and move ahead to step 2.
Step 2. Get Believable Bronze.
Get a bronze glow that isn’t orange, smelly, and totally obvious. May we recommend our favorite, Tantasia from Jane Iredale! The look is glowing and the feel is light and fresh. Another great product is Clarin’s Intense Bronze Self Tanning Tint for face and decollete. It may look like soy sauce but gives instant color when applied to your face and looks completely natural – as long as you don’t over do it. Apply evenly with plastic gloves or a foam mitt and let sit for 5 minutes before applying your makeup as usual.
Step 3. Hyper-Hydrate.
For your glow to last, your skin needs to retain the hydration that freezing temps can strip away. Use an oil-based moisturizer to help bind in H2O leaving skin incredibly soft. Try SkinCeuticals Emollience Rich, Restorative Moisturizer that is formulated with an exclusive selection of natural extracts and oils. It’s perfect for cold, dry climates such as ours here in Utah.
Step 4. Go For Glimmer.
Lastly, use a multi-tasking BB Cream to sooth red, dry skin from windy, cold temps that will also provide lasting coverage. Jane Iredale’s Glow Time Mineral BB Cream is a full coverage foundation that offers sun protection, conceals blemishes, minimizes the appearance of pores, disguises wrinkles and smooths and brightens skin. Pretty amazing, right? Yeah, we agree. Now enjoy your glowing skin and ring in the New Year with confidence. Oh, and remember to take a lot of pictures!
