Fall is the perfect time to take care of sun-damaged skin after a long summer of traveling and enjoying the outdoors. Chemical peels are a great minimally-invasive way to not only lighten pigmentation and sunspots, but also brighten the skin and improve the texture and tone. Other advantages may include less acne as well as less noticeable fine wrinkles and acne scarring. Fall is also the best time for chemical peel specials at Utah Facial Plastics! With offices in Layton and Draper, Utah, we offer many options that can be customized to your specific needs. Here’s our latest chemical peel special for September and October, 2016.
PCA Jessner Peel
The PCA Jessner Peel is a great mild peel that can be more aggressive with additional layers. This peel removes superficial layers of the skin, dries out active acne, helps break up blackheads, and helps reduce general signs of aging, such as pigmentation and fine wrinkles. Up to six peels may be recommended for maximum benefit. Patients can expect a day or two of redness but it’s very mild. This peel is made up of 14% Lactic Acid, 14% Salicylic Acid, 14% Resorcinol (flaking agent), 2% Hydroquinone, Citric Acid and Kojic Acid.
PCA Ultra Peel
The PCA Ultra I Peel is one of our most popular peels. It’s a bit more aggressive than the Jessner peel when 2-5 layers are applied. This peel is great for common signs of aging, such as lines, wrinkles, and pigmentation. It also improves the texture and tone of the skin by removing dead skin cells from the surface. Up to six peels may be recommended and a few days of redness can be expected. Key ingredients include 20% Lactic Acid, 10% TCA, Kojic Acid, Azelaic Acid and Vitamin C. The Ultra Peel II is an additional layer that can be added with each treatment to accelerate the peeling process and enhance results.
SkinCeuticals Pigment Balancing Masque
SkinCeuticals Pigment Balancing Masque is a very popular peel as well and typically recommended when hyper-pigmentation is the patients main concern. This slightly stronger peel contains high powered brightening and anti-inflammatory agents with a powerful exfoliating acid solution to increase cell turnover and repair sun-damage. Up to six treatments may be suggested for full improvement. This treatment also comes with just a few days of redness. The ingredients include 40% Glycolic Acid and 27% Vitamin C. The combination of the two work incredibly well to lighten pigmentation.
PCA Ultra Peel Forte
The PCA Ultra Peel Forte is a deeper peel that is more suitable for patients with resilient skin. The peel rejuvenates the skin, improves fine lines and wrinkles, helps with pigmentation, and also creates a more even, glowing skin tone. This peel contains 20% TCA, 10% Lactic Acid, Kojic Acid, Azeliac Acid, and Vitamin C. Up to six treatments may be best depending on the patient. Redness may take 2-4 days to fully reside.
