Out of Town Patients

Welcome! Dr. Thompson’s reputation as a caring and skilled surgeon with naturally beautiful results has spread far beyond the borders of Utah with many of our patients coming from all over the globe. As Utah’s Facial Plastic Surgery specialist on The Younger You with Troy Thompson, viewers from around the world are able to view his episodes online and often decide that he is the best facial plastic surgeon for them. Our staff is highly accustomed to accommodating out-of-town patients looking for the best results possible.

Some patients appreciate recovering from aesthetic surgery near family and friends while many prefer the privacy and anonymity that comes with an skilled out-of-town plastic surgeon that better serves their needs. The staff of Thompson Facial Plastics provides a safe, comfortable experience for all patients, including those that travel long distances.

At Utah Facial Plastics, we strive to provide the best experience possible for local and out-of-state patients. To make things easier for those traveling from afar, we’ve put together three easy steps to prepare you for surgery without having to make an extra trip prior to arriving for surgery.

Step One: Send Your Requests & Photos

The first step is to send your requests and photos through our Virtual Consultation scheduler by clicking on the image below. Be sure to include as much information about your concerns, needs, and desires for Dr. Thompson to review prior to your online consultation. You will need someone to take photos of your face from the angles listed on our virtual consultation page.

Step Two: Phone or Skype Consultation with Dr. Thompson

Once we receive your photos and information, Jessica, Dr. Thompson’s Patient Care Coordinator, will contact you to schedule your virtual consultation. This can sometimes be done by phone but Skype, Google Chat, or Facetime is preferred. Jessica will get your username and log you in when it’s time to speak with Dr. Thompson. Following your consultation with Dr. Thompson, Jessica will provide you with a detailed quote on all procedures discussed and answer any questions you may have about scheduling surgery. She will send you follow up information including names and contact information for Patient Ambassador referrals that you may want to talk to learn about the surgical process firsthand. Patients will be given to you that have undergone the procedure(s) you are interested in. Feel free to reply back to Jessica with further questions as they may come up.

Step Three: Scheduling Your Surgery

When ready to proceed with surgery, Jessica will be able to provide you with available dates and times that will vary depending on the procedure being performed. For facelift surgery, patients typically need to schedule 3 months in advance but can be added to a cancellation list to be contacted for an earlier date if a scheduled facelift patient cancels or reschedules their procedure. A non-refundable $500 deposit is due to secure your surgical date that applies to the total cost of surgery. The remaining surgical balance is due at least one week prior to surgery. Any facility and anesthesia fees involved will need to be paid the morning of surgery in two separate payments at the surgical facility.

Jessica will also help you schedule an initial visit 1-2 days prior to surgery as well as your post-operative appointments. Depending on your procedure and situation, Dr. Thompson will recommend your length of stay last from 3 -10 days following surgery. With patient safety being top priority to Dr. Thompson, you may need to receive documented clearance from treating physician(s). He will discuss these details during your online consultation.

Your pre and post operative paperwork will be emailed to you with verbal instructions to make sure you are prepared for surgery. Jessica will call in all your prescriptions beforehand for you to pick up, with the exception of any pain medication as recent laws require a hand written prescription from the doctor that we can give you when you come in for surgery. Any skincare included in your surgical packet will be given at that time as well.
