Juvederm Vollure XC is the newest member of the Juvederm family and also made of hyaluronic acid. Vollure was approved by the FDA in April, 2017 for the correction of moderate to severe wrinkles and folds in the face, such as the nasolabial folds, for adults age 21 and older. Our top Juvederm providers at Utah Facial Plastics utilize Vollure alone or in combination with other injectables for full facial rejuvenation.

Important Facts About Juvederm Vollure XC:

  • Juvederm Vollure is the first and only dermal filler shown to last for up to 18 months for treatment of moderate to severe folds and wrinkles.
  • Juvederm Vollure provides a soft, natural results and most commonly used for nasolabial folds around the mouth, an area approximately half of all dermal patients have treated with dermal fillers.
  • Vollure utilizes the same proprietary VYCROSS technology as Voluma and Volbella, which blends different molecular weights of hyaluronic acid gel to create a tailored gel without compromising duration.
  • While Juvederm Ultra Plus and Ultra Plus XC are also indicated for use in the nasolabial folds, Vollure is different in how it’s formulated and carries a longer duration. Juvederm Ultra Plus XC is a more highly cross-linked, robust gel, while Juvederm Vollure XC adds subtle, softer volume.

How does Juvederm Vollure XC work?

Vollure is injected by our experienced practitioners with a small needle into the skin of moderate to severe folds for instant rejuvenation. Vollure is made of hyaluronic acid, which is naturally found in the skin making Vollure a safe choice for facial rejuvenation. Vollure is often combined with other Juvederm products or Botox for facial rejuvenation.

The Utah Facial Plastics Difference

As a Preferred Provider with Allergan, Utah Facial Plastics was one of the first practices to offer Juvederm Vollure in all of Utah. And facial plastic surgeons, Dr. Scott Thompson and Dr. Douglas Henstrom each have over 15 years experience with injectables for facial rejuvenation and specifically trained our UFP nurse injectors, Alfie Symes and Beth Sheiner, to provide the most natural results possible. Both nurse injectors have multiple years of experience treating patients with all injectables and spend ample time with each patient to ensure safety and satisfaction. Reviews on all injectors at UFP can be found at RealSelf.com.

What to expect with your Vollure Treatment

Consultations for Vollure and other injectables are complimentary with the possibility of treatment available at the same time. Together with your UFP injector, goals for outcome are discussed to ensure you are both on the same page prior to treatment. We then apply numbing cream for approximately 20 minutes prior to treatment to minimize any discomfort with the injection. The gel formulation in Vollure also contains lidocaine (local anesthetic) to make the procedure more comfortable as well. The actual treatment takes approximately 15-20 minutes and the results are instant.

We provide an ice pack immediately after to help minimize bruising and swelling, which can happen with any injectable treatment. Normal activity can be resumed immediately after your appointment and any bruising swelling typically resides within 3-7 days. A full syringe must be purchased but not all of it may be used at your first appointment depending on the severity and number of areas of the face being treated. We then bank it here in the office for up to one year for you to come back for a touch-up at no extra charge. It’s important to start conservatively as it’s easier to add more than it is to take away too much.
