Radiesse®

Replenish lost volume and look younger with Radiesse® Volumizing Filler. Not only does this rinkle filler give you immediate results, it also continues to provide added benefit by stimulating the production of your own natural collagen. By adding instant volume, wrinkles and folds can disappear immediately. Radiesse was also recently FDA approved for hand rejuvenation. And in many patients, results lasted a year or more. Look younger for longer by choosing Radiesse® Volumizing Filler.

What is Radiesse?

Radiesse Volumizing Filler contains calcium-based microspheres, that once injected, act as a scaffold under the skin to provide lift. Over time, these microspheres begin to stimulate your own natural collagen to grow so results are both immediate and long-lasting. Results are clinically proven to last a year or more in many patients.

Where is Radiesse® used?

Radiesse® is ideal for correcting the following facial areas:

  • Smile lines, also called nasolabial folds, which run from the sides of the nose to the corners of the mouth
  • Marionette lines, which begin at the corners of the mouth and extend down toward the chin
  • Corners of the mouth can begin to turn downward, giving the look of a constant frown
  • Pre-jowls that form along the jaw-line
  • Chin wrinkles
  • Back of hands

Radiesse is FDA-approved for correction of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as nasolabial folds. Dr. Thompson often uses Radiesse to temporarily augment the cheeks, chin and/or jaw line. He may also use it to shape the nose for a “non-surgical rhinoplasty” for patients who qualify.

Radiesse Treatments

What should I expect with my Radiesse treatment?

Once Dr. Thompson determines you are a good candidate for Radiesse, a topical numbing cream is applied and left to sit for approximately 20 minutes to ease any discomfort that may result from the injection. Lidocaine is typically mixed with Radiesse to also ease the pain from the needle. The actual treatment only takes 15-30 minutes. Results are instant and you are able to return to your regular daily routine right afterwards.

What should I expect following my Radiesse treatment?

There is very little to no downtime associated with a Radiesse procedure. In fact, most patients return to their normal daily activities right after their visit and are sent with an ice pack to use for a brief amount of time to minimize side effects. Just like any injection, you may experience mild irritation, swelling, itching, redness, bruising or tenderness at the injection site. These side effects typically resolve on their own within 7 days or less. If any of these side effects persist, call our office immediately.
