AHA,BHA, or both?!
You probably often see these letters on skin care products and wonder what they are. Without getting too scientific and confusing, they are both hydroxy acids and have been found to have multiple skin benefits.
AHA’s are often referred to fruit acids, also derived from milk and sugar. They work be removing the top layer of the skin by exfoliation. They also help to reduce wrinkles, produce collagen, and enhance the appearance of sun damage. AHA is an important component in lightening the skin, an alternative of hydroqinone.
There is only one BHA, salicylic acid, which is commonly known for reducing breakouts. BHA is also very useful in reducing wrinkles, improving skin roughness and conditions that involve blocked and clogged pores.
