Many treatments and procedures on the market today sound to good to be true, and many of them are. To help with the confusion and prevent consumers from wasting their hard-earned money, we’ve listed the top 3 non-surgical anti-aging treatments that offer proven results. As Utah’s Leader in Facial Rejuvenation, Dr. Thompson has been offering all top anti-aging treatments to patients for over 10 years.
Botox is the number one cosmetic procedure in the world, for men and women, and has held that title for a number of years. It’s no wonder as treatment is quick, easy and there’s no down-time involved. And of course…it’s incredibly effective. This anti-aging treatment works by allowing the facial muscles to relax which results in the disappearance of wrinkles, lines and even deep furrows, such as crow’s feet and frown lines. Recent studies are also beginning to show the influence Botox Cosmetic has on the emotional state of patients with an increase in overall happiness following treatment. 2) Dermal Fillers
Like Botox, dermal fillers are non-invasive and offer instant results with to no downtime. Dermal fillers work by filling in lines and wrinkles in the face to restore facial rejuvenation. Popular choices include Juvederm, Restylane, and Belafill. Most dermal fillers are made of hyaluronic acid, a substance naturally found in the skin, and can smooth all wrinkles from fine to deep by being injected into areas where collagen has been lost. Dermal fillers can also restore lost volume in the mid-face which occurs over time. The most popular option for volume restoration is Juvederm Voluma. This injectable lasts up to 2 years and can be used to sculpt more defined cheekbones as well. Many patients will use a combination of dermal fillers and Botox for what is often referred to as a “Liquid Facelift“. Though temporary, the use of fillers and Botox can provide astounding results that are instant and easily done in one quick trip to the office. The downside is that results are not permanent and do not replace that of such surgical procedures like facelift surgery.
3) Laser Skin Rejuvenation
Laser skin rejuvenation can also be used in combination with a liquid facelift for maximum results. Botox works well to weaken muscles while dermal fillers plump wrinkles under the skin. Neither option address superficial facial skin like laser skin resurfacing does. Our fractional CO2 laser addressed fine lines, pigmentation, acne scars, and overall dull skin. This anti-aging treatment also stimulates the natural collagen production resulting in smoother, brighter facial skin.
It’s important to keep in mind that successful outcomes with such popular anti-aging treatments is most largely dependent on the physician performing your treatment(s). It’s important to research credentials, view before and after photos, and read actual patient testimonials.
