As Utah’s leader in facial plastic surgery, Utah Facial Plastics is committed to providing patients with safe and effective treatments to ensure the best outcomes possible. Our surgeons, Drs. Thompson and Henstrom, have spent nearly 30 years combined solely focused on the face and neck. One procedure they perform often is a MACSlift, their preferred technique for a mini-facelift. So what makes them top mini facelift surgeons in Utah?

Credentials

Dr. Scott Thompson is a double board-certified facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon.  After completing medical school and residency, Dr. Thompson was accepted to complete a highly competitive facial plastic surgery fellowship under Dr. Vito Quatela, past president of the American Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery. Dr. Thompson has since spent over 15 years performing hundreds of mini facelift procedures with incredible outcomes. Many mini facelift reviews can be found on his RealSelf profile.

Dr. Douglas Henstrom is also double board-certified in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery. After training at Harvard and the Mayo Clinic, Dr. Henstrom served as Director of Facial Plastic Surgery at the University of Iowa prior to joining Utah Facial Plastics in 2017. He has also performed hundreds of mini facelift procedures over the years with incredibly natural results. Reviews and information about Dr. Henstrom can be found here.

Mini-facelift information

A mini facelift, or a MACSlift, is typically done in-office under local anesthesia. The primary focus of a MACSlift is to correct moderately loose skin on the neck as well as mild to moderate jowling. Some advantages that come with this type of facelift include long-lasting results, a shorter incision and scar, less cost and no general anesthesia.

A MACSlift is typically recommended at a younger age than a traditional facelift when a patient is in the early stages of experiencing facial laxity. This helps them restore and maintain a youthful face shape. A mini lift can often be viewed as a preventative procedure as it can prolong the need for a potential traditional facelift.

Both Drs. Thompson and Henstrom are well-qualified, experienced surgeons who are performing multiple MACSlift and facelift procedures each and every week. When trusting someone with your face, always choose a facial plastic surgeon. Trust your face to Utah Facial Plastics.
