Everyone has heard of Botox. But what is Botox 2.0?

Botox Today

Botox is a neurotoxin that lasts anywhere from three to five months. Botox has been around for many years and is very well known all over the world.  Botox is used to help maintain a more youthful look when injected into facial muscles to smooth lines and wrinkles. If you are unhappy with the results of your Botox, you are in luck because it wears off within three to five months.

Botox 2.0

Botox 2.0 has not yet been released because it is still being studied and tested. This new form of Botox is supposed to last longer, which means less Botox treatments every year. When Botox 2.0 is injected, it is supposed to last up to six months. It is also rumored that you will need less of the product injected, while still achieving the same result. The downside of Botox 2.0 is if you are unhappy with your treatment, you have to wait a little longer for it to wear off. It makes it even more important to go to someone who is well trained and has lots of injecting experience. If you have been going to a physician or injector that you are happy with and gets it right every time, Botox 2.0 is going to be everything you have ever dreamed of.

The RT002 is the new type of neurotoxin that is in Botox 2.0. Besides Botox 2.0 lasting six months, another thing that sets it apart from Botox is that it is vegan friendly. Unlike any injectable currently on the market, Botox 2.0 contains no human or animal based components. Botox 2.0 may be more appealing to those who want to avoid any human or animal components. RT002 is also being studied and tested for other therapeutic treatments, such as plantar fasciitis (heel pain that is common in runners) and cervical dystonia (spasmodic condition in the neck muscles).

RT002 is still in the testing phase for both therapeutic and cosmetic purposes. Patients always tell us ‘I wish Botox lasted longer.’ Their wish may be coming true in the near future.

What do you think of Botox 2.0? Is it something that you would try or would you rather stick to traditional Botox? For information about Botox in Draper and Layton, Utah, call (801) 776-2220 today.
