The Benefits of Micro-Needling
- Posted on: Oct 1 2018
Micro-needling is a great treatment for skin resurfacing that can greatly improve ones skin texture and overall youthfulness. It’s a popular procedure at UFP Aesthetics and Utah Facial Plastics in Layton and Draper, Ut and one of the many options we offer for skin rejuvenation.
How does micro-needling work?
Micro-needling, also known as collagen induction therapy, involves a pen containing 12 tiny sterile needles that are gently pressed along the skin to create trauma. This trauma induces your body’s natural repair response, producing collagen and elastin for rejuvenated skin. These needles also create micro-channels to infuse serums deeper into the skin, like hyaluronic acid, growth factors, and platelet-rich plasma (from your own blood) A series of “passes” are made along the skin by one or our nurses or aestheticians until even trauma has been created.
Numbing cream is applied approximately 30 minutes prior to the procedure to help with any pain or discomfort and works very well. It is typically recommended that patients receive 3-6 procedures depending on their needs and concerns, although improvement can be notes approximately 1 month after initialtreatment.
What are the benefits of micro-needling?
- reduced fine lines and wrinkles
- reduced pore size
- more youthful looking skin
- acne scar reduction
- improved skin tone and texture
- safe for all skin types
Save on micro-needling during the month of October and receive $100 off micro-needling with PRP (Vampire Facial) or $75 off micro-needling with manufactured growth factors. If done with PRP, treatment is done by one of our nurses who will draw your blood first to obtain the stem cells. If done with manufactured growth factors, one of our master aestheticians will administer the procedure.
Other possible recommendations for skin rejuvenation include chemical peels, Venus Viva treatments, a CO2 laser resurfacing treatment, IPL, Hydrafacial or Dermasweep and/or skincare options.
