What is AquaGold?

We’re excited to now offer AquaGold treatments at both our Layton and Draper locations! As Utah’s leader in facial rejuvenation, we are continually adding cutting-edge skin treatments analyzed by our top providers before implementing in to our practice. AquaGold is the latest treatment option we’re excited to offer for skin rejuvenation.
What is AquaGold?
AquaGold is a a micro-infusion, micro-needling treatment that infuses a cocktail of Botox, hyaluronic acid fillers and vitamins into the skin. Platelet rich plasma (PRP) is also often used depending on the patient and their skin condition(s). The combination of products used is customized to each individual patient. This treatment is different from traditional micro-needling as it is not done with an electronic device, but rather a small hand-held vial containing 20 micro-needles. These needles are 0.6 mm long and only 0.13 mm wide, which is thinner than a human hair.
The 20 micro-needles are made of gold-plated stainless steal. The gold-plated needles are not just for looks but actually reduce the amount of irritation, allergic reactions and are highly bio-compatible with human skin.
There are many great benefits AquaGold offers for skin rejuvenation with no downtime being one of the best! AquaGold is also safe for all skin types, shrinks pores, plumps the skin, minimizes fine lines and improves the appearance of scars.
Botox helps with fine lines and pores, hyaluronic acid (such as Juvederm) plumps the skin and various vitamins that are added can regenerate, moisturize, heal and protect the skin. PRP, when used, helps boost collagen, increases stem cell activity and give the skin a flawless complexion. Micro-needling on its own will help induce collagen production and treats scarring, texture and reduces pore size. AquaGold takes results to a new level for flawless, “photo-shopped” looking skin without the downtime.
How Long Does An AquaGold Treatment Take?
AquaGold treatments can be done with or without numbing cream, depending on patient preference. Treatments are comfortable but can be slightly painful on the nose and forehead without numbing. If opting for topical numbing cream, we have patients arrive 30 minutes prior to appointment time to numb the surface of the skin. The AquaGold treatment is done by our cosmetic nurses who “stamp” the “cocktail” of ingredients into the skin throughout the entire face. The neck and decollete can often be included as well with just one vial. The AquaGold technology creates micro-channels that send products directly into the skin, just under the dermis layer. This process takes approximately 20-30 minutes. The skin is slightly pink following treatment and make-up can be applied 5 hours later. Nightly skin regimens can resume that same evening.
The AquaGold treatment is recommended for both younger and older patients. While it can be repeated monthly, every 3 to 4 months is recommended.
