Automated micro-needling is an innovative aesthetic treatment for fine lines, acne scars, skin texture, tone, and color. Also known as Collagen Induction Therapy, micro-needling is used to create controlled micro-injuries in the skin to induce the skin’s natural repair process. This repair process then thickens the epidermis and stimulates the production of collagen and elastin, producing smooth, rejuvenated skin. Topical gels, creams, and serums can be used and absorbed into the deeper layers of the skin through micro-channels created during the micro-needling process.

MicroGlide HA™ is one of Eclipse Aesthetics’ best-selling products used to compliment micro-needling and other aesthetic procedures. Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a gelatinous carbohydrate that is naturally found in a person’s body.HA helps promote the conditions for collagen production, plumps and hydrates. It is used to moisturize the skin in conjunction with a micro-needling treatment. After micro-needling procedures, applying Eclipse MicroGlide HA™ delivers deep nourishment to the skin.
Eclipse MicroGlide GF™ is designed to aid in the lubrication and enhancement of the skin. MicroGlide GF™ can be used to compliment micro-neelding with other applications including microdermabrasion and laser resurfacing. Eclipse MicroGlide GF™ uses mesenchymal stem cell growth factor (GF) to optimize the skin’s response to the Eclipse MicroPen® procedure. To produce Stem Growth Factors, special types of mesenchymal stem cells are cultured in the laboratory and utilized to create more of the beneficial molecules. The product doesn’t contain any cells, only the bio-signals produced are used in MicroGlide GF™. The benefits of GF are recognized for promoting skin cell proliferation and neocollagenesis.
Frequently Asked Questions
A sterile tip containing 12 micro-tips is attached to the pen and gently pressed against the skin with a series of “passes” made by one of our certified professionals. Micro-channels are created through the needling process allowing topical serums, such as hyaluronic acid, growth factors and PRP, to penetrate deeper into the skin for facial rejuvenation.
Pain and discomfort are minimal as we typically apply topical numbing cream prior to the procedure. Common areas for treatment include the face, neck, décolleté, arms, hands, legs, abdomen and back.
You will notice bright redness to the skin immediately after your treatment. How long the redness lasts will depend on the number of passes your skincare professional performs. On average, the redness lasts approximately 2 days but many patients heal 24 hours following their treatment, especially if our Eclipse Dermal Recovery System is used to speed up the healing process.
Some patients require only a single treatment, especially when used with PRP or other topical serums. However, 2-3 treatments are typically recommended, spaced about 6-8 weeks apart. For patients concerned with deep wrinkles, advanced pigmentation, acne scars or stretch marks, 6-8 treatments may be recommended.
You will notice an immediate “glow” to your skin following your initial procedure. But the actual repair process triggered by micro-needling takes place over the course of several weeks. Results will continue to improve up to 6 months after treatment as the collagen production continues.
Platelet-Rich-Plasma (PRP) for Enhanced Results
Our Registered Nurse offers PRP as a complement to the Eclipse MicroPen treatment or a stand-alone procedure to greatly enhance results and reduce downtime. PRP is essentially concentrated blood plasma that contains approximately five times the number of platelets found in normal circulating blood. The function of platelets is to promote healing and aid in the clotting of blood at the site of the wound. Platelets contain growth factors that expedite the body’s own repair process for greater collagen and elastin production. The essential growth factors obtained from this process generate proteins that encourage cell turnover for brighter, healthier, and more luminous skin. Tone and texture are improved and the healing process is much quicker when PRP is utilized during your micro-needling session.
About Your PRP Procedure
- A small amount is blood is drawn by our Registered Nurse
- The blood is then spun in a centrifuge to separate the platelets from the other components of the blood
- The PRP is then applied to the skin during and following the Eclipse MicroPen treatment
