What is Belotero?
This dermal filler is as unique as you are. BELOTERO BALANCE® is specifically designed to integrate into your skin and mold to your distinct facial contours. By adapting to your skin, lines and wrinkles are softened for smooth and natural results that are uniquely you.
Where is Belotero used?
Belotero is versatile in that it can be used in deeper areas, such as nasolabial folds (smile lines around the mouth), yet soft enough to treat more delicate areas, such as vertical lip lines and lines under the eyes (tear trouphs), which is most often what our injectors recommend Belotero for. This product works great in conjunction with a thicker dermal filler to fill in deeper folds while Belotero tackles the fine lines and wrinkles that often exist. Dr. Thompson considers Belotero to be a great option for lip augmentation as well.
How does Belotero work?
Belotero Balance is made of a material called hyaluronic acid, or HA, which naturally exists as a component of your skin. By binding to water, it fills in wrinkles and folds, allowing immediate and smooth correction.
Belotero Balance Treatments
What should I expect with my Belotero treatment?
Once your injector has determined you are a good candidate for Belotero, a topical numbing cream is applied and left to sit for approximately 20-30 minutes to minimize any discomfort that may result from treatment. The actual treatment takes approximately 15 minutes and results are instant, though most patients report continual improvement over the next few days as the injection site heals and wrinkles smooth out. Results do vary but Belotero typically lasts around 6 months or more. You can learn more at www.belotero.com.
What should I expect following my Belotero treatment?
There is very little to no downtime associated with a BELOTERO BALANCE® Dermal Filler procedure. In fact, most patients return to their normal daily activities right after their visit and are sent with an ice pack to use for a brief amount of time to minimize side effects. Just like any injection, you may experience mild irritation, swelling, itching, redness, bruising or tenderness at the injection site. These side effects typically resolve on their own within 7 days or less. If any of these side effects persist, call our office immediately.
