Loose neck skin is one of the most common concerns people come to discuss with Dr. Thompson. Neck rejuvenation also provides one of the most dramatic results when it comes to cosmetic surgery. The presence of loose neck skin, banding and fat accumulation can make a person look much older and/or heavier than they actually are which is why restoring the neck and jawline has such a great impact on ones overall appearance.

Three top procedures for neck rejuvenation include Botox, chin and neck (submental) liposuction, and facelift surgery.

Botox

Botox is FDA approved for crow’s feet around the eyes as well as lines between the brows. But off-label, it has many purposes and Dr. Thompson often uses it to improve the appearance of platysmal bands in the neck.

Results are not permanent but treatment is quick, painless, non-invasive and relatively inexpensive. Just one more reason to love Botox!

Chin & Neck (Submental) Liposuction

Dr. Thompson performs submental liposuction as part of both his facelift procedures and in-office MACS facelift procedure but does it in the office alone as well for the right candidate. Liposuction is great for patients that still maintain good neck elasticity that will benefit from the removal of fatty tissue in the neck and under the chin. Submental lipostuction can be performed in conjunction with a chin implant as well to give more prominence to that area.

Facelift Surgery

The most dramatic results come from necklift or facelift surgery, which essentially are the same as the neck must be addressed with the lower face at the same time to produce natural looking results.

Dr. Thompson’s in-office macs facelift (mini facelift) procedure rejuvenates the neck area with great success without the need for general anesthesia and a shorter recovery time. For patients with excess neck skin, his full facelift is recommended as more of the neck is addressed with this technique. Both procedures consist of lifting drooping skin, tightening lax muscles, and eliminating fat through submental liposuction, providing a much more youthful and rejuvenated appearance.

With a variety of non-surgical and surgical options available today, Dr. Thompson customizes his approach depending on each patients needs and concerns. It’s best to meet with him for a free online or in-office consultation in Utah to discuss the options available. Call (801)776-2220 to schedule.

I think botox will be a good choice. What do you think? I have heard some reviews that botox is perfect for neck rejuvenation.

I was referred to your office by my mom, Lyn Beutler. I’m interested in the upper eyelid lift, and the submental liposuction on my neck and a chin implant. Does Dr. Thompson do Botox too? I need that done around my forehead and mouth. Can you give me some sort of idea how much all of these procedures will cost?
