Over the years, cosmetic treatments have become more and more popular among men. Just like many woman, men are wanting to look and feel their best as they age. We are sharing the top four facial cosmetic treatments that men are most interested in at Utah Facial Plastics. These surgical and non-surgical options help men maintain their individual look while providing a rejuvenated and more refined appearance.
Hair Restoration
We have many male patients that come to us to help restore the full head of hair they once had. Hair restoration is a great in-office procedure with very little downtime. We offer two different types of hair restoration, FUE and FUT. The FUE method (follicular unit extraction) is when each hair follicle is removed from your donor area and transplanted to the bald or thinning area on the head. The FUT method (follicular unit transplantation) is better for those with a preferred length of hair that is long enough to hide the linear scar on the back of the head. Both of these options are permanent and look very natural. Patience is important as it takes 6-12 months for those follicles to fully produce hair where they’ve been transplanted.
Eyelid Surgery
“Tired and baggy” looking eyes can make a person look and feel older than they actually are, which is why blepharoplasties are becoming so popular. An upper blepharoplasty surgery is an in office procedure commonly performed by both of our facial plastic surgeons. It addresses the excess skin on the upper eyelid and will make your eyes appear more awake and less heavy. There’s a variation of lower blepharoplasty surgeries that we offer, such as a lower-lid skin pinch and a lower eyelid surgery that sometimes includes fat repositioning. A skin pinch is for those patients who are primarily concerned with minimal to moderate excess skin under their eyes. The lower eyelid surgery (with possible fat repositioning) addresses additional concerns, such as puffiness, bags and hollowing under the eyes.
Facial Contouring
Men of all ages are wanting a more chiseled and masculine appearance. The most requested surgical contouring includes rhinoplasties, chin implants and facelifts. Rhinoplasty and chin implants are a couple of surgeries that are often done together to create the perfect profile. Chin implants are also done alone to create a stronger, more defined jaw line. There is an increase in the amount of men interested in face or necklift procedures to address skin laxity, jowls and volume loss. Facelift surgery is a great way for more mature men to look as good as they feel on the inside.
Injectables
“Brotox” is become more and more popular each year with men looking to prevent and soften wrinkles. Men are receiving Botox in areas such as their crows feet (around the eyes), glabella (between the brows) and forehead lines. Filler is frequently used in the nose, nasolabial folds, cheeks and jawline. Kybella is another injectable men are showing interest in to remove fat under the chin and jawline. Kybella is performed in a series of treatments, generally 2 to 4, with results improving with each treatment.
