What to expect with a VI peel

Chemical peels are a great way to rejuvenate the skin and improve your overall skin health. Our VI Peel is different from most peels because it is a high quality chemical peel that is safe for all skin types and tones. If you’ve had a peel, you know they can sometimes be a little painful. This peel is painless, while still being aggressive enough to effectively treat all skin conditions. Here is what to expect with a VI peel at Utah Facial Plastics.

The VI Peel addresses:

  • fine lines
  • wrinkles
  • sun damage
  • pore size
  • acne
  • acne scars
  • skin texture and tone

The VI Peel requires very little downtime unlike many other chemical peels. On days 1 and 2 post VI peel there is typically no signs of peeling. Peeling usually begins on day three and lasts just a few days. By day five you can expect some residual peeling that is manageable. By day six and seven, peeling is coming to an end and there may be some minimal peeling on the edges of the face. Once the peeling process is completed, you are left with brighter, glowing skin.

VI Peel treatments come with a comprehensive post peel kit that helps individuals care for their face during the healing process. The kit includes a cleanser, SPF 50, post-peel protectant and post-peel pads. Using these appropriate products after treatment will help maximize results.

We also offer a variety of 5 VI lightening and brightening boosters. With these boosters, we are able to treat most skin conditions with a more aggressive approach.

There are five major ingredients in each peel; Trichloroacetic Acid (TCA), Retinoic Acid (Vitamin A), Salicylic Acid, Phenol, and L-Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C).

The VI Peel can be done once every four to six weeks or every quarter throughout the year. Your aesthetician will talk to you about a treatment plan during your skin evaluation so we can help you achieve your skin goals and get you on the road to healthy, radiant skin.
