The One Skincare Product You Need This Winter

Repost: The Younger You

Guest blogger Jenny Yergensen is joining us once again to give us the low-down o her favorite product for combating dry skin in the winter time:

It’s a common skin concern during the winter, especially here in Utah. We’re talking about dry, flaky skin. If you’re like me, you’ve tried a myriad of lotions and creams that help but require repeat applications throughout the day to really address the issue. I personally tried a few ointments as well but didn’t like how greasy and heavy they felt on my skin. Plus, they can clog your pores, which was likely to leave me with an additional skin problem.

The Game-Changer

I realize we’re only talking about skin here but I can’t tell you how deep my love runs for Bio-Oil, which is my pick for the must-have product this winter and all year round. I was skeptical after reading that it’s a Kardashian fave (yes, I fell for it), especially since it came with just a $15 price tag. But after trying it for about two weeks, my skin was glowing in a dewy – not greasy – kind of way and I couldn’t be happier with this product. The flaking I had across my forehead … gone.

Benefits

Bio-Oil contains PurCellin Oil, which absorbs easily and leaves your skin feeling soft and smooth. It also contains Vitamins A and E for skin renewal and protection. I have sensitive skin and have no adverse reaction from this product, which is reported safe for all skin types. Bio-Oil contains multiple plant extracts as well that reduce inflammation, soothe, cleanse, and moisturize the skin. With this product, my skin looks healthy and supple, versus dry and dull like it often is during the winter months.

Many customers report improvement of scars and stretch-marks, though I can’t attest to the efficacy for those concerns. And according to skinmagonline.com, Bio-Oil can also be used to calm frizzy hair, soothe sun-burned skin, and protect your cuticles.

How To Use

It’s simple … apply morning and night and give it some time to fully see the difference. I really noticed a difference after two weeks though the company reports maximum results around six weeks. It’s still important to use a nightly retinol use for increased cell turnover and be sure to exfoliate 2-3 times per week to remove the dead skin cells. And of course, don’t forget to apply sunscreen daily, even during the winter months. I use approximately 5 minutes in the morning before applying my foundation and love how my makeup looks with this as somewhat of a primer.

For flawless, radiant skin, give Bio-Oil a try and let us know what you think! And be sure to stay up-to-date on more skincare product and treatment reviews over at our Utah Facial Plastics beauty blog.
