COVID-19 Plastic Surgery Hours

Due to safety concerns with COVID-19, we chose to close our doors to any non-essential treatments on Thursday, March 19th. The state of Utah has since mandated essential services only should be offered until at least April 25th. As of now, we are rescheduling cosmetic appointments for after May 1st, which is subject to change. We will continue to monitor the situation and reschedule May appointments if needed. We are, however, open from 9-4 each day to take phone calls. We are also offering the following services as outlined below.

Virtual Consultations

Drs. Thompson and Henstrom are not seeing patients for in-office consultations but are offering their services via Skype, FaceTime, Zoom or Whatsapp. Many patients are taking advantage of this service as either doc typically takes 2-3 months to get into for a cosmetic consultation and you can now schedule a virtual consultation with either doctor within 1-2 days. This is a free service available to anyone. Common procedures our surgeons are consulting on include hair transplant surgery, facelifts, rhinoplasty, otoplasty, skin resurfacing and more. This always patients to learn more about their procedure(s) of interest, see if they are a good candidate and get pricing information. They can then schedule for after May 1st if they decide to proceed.

Laceration Repair

To minimize hospital and ER traffic, our surgeons are offering laceration repair services for anyone in need. This is for individuals with lacerations from accidents that may occur during this difficult time of quarantine. Our surgeons have extensive training and experience in wound closure ensuring the least amount of scarring possible. This service is available at both our Layton and Draper locations and is considered a safer alternative to the hospital or ER due to the minimal amount of traffic we have at both locations.

Skin Cancer Repair

Also known as Mohs reconstructive surgery, skin cancer repair is an essential service offered by both of our surgeons at this time. Most patients have seen a dermatologist who has removed skin cancer from the face, scalp or neck and are then referred to our office for the reconstruction. Our experienced Utah facial plastic surgeons have each performed thousands of Mohs repair procedures and are happy to continue to offer this service at this time.

Post-Operative Appointments

Post-operative and follow-up appointments that require in-office evaluation are also considered essential at this time. Most follow-up appointments are done online with a few exceptions.
