New Facial Plastics and Hair Restoration Surgeon Joins Utah Facial Plastics

Dr. Manning at UFP

Since the exciting addition of our state-of-the-art location in Draper, our team at Utah Facial Plastics & UFP Aesthetics has continued to make big moves. From winning “Best of Salt Lake City 2022” to reaching Gold Standard status in accreditation for our on-site operating room, we are focused on the expansion and continued success of our ever-growing practice. With that, we are thrilled to welcome the third addition to our powerhouse team of Facial Plastics and Hair Restoration Surgeons, Dr. James P. Manning.

Dr. Manning was specifically selected by UFP doctors to join the team and has already made an impact to the surgical side of our practice. He completed the same highly competitive fellowship that Dr. Thompson completed in 2005 with Dr. Vito Quatela, the former AAFPRS president and current IFFPSS (International Federation of Facial Plastic Surgery Societies). As for his educational background, he received his bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University in 2011, went on to the University of Washington where he received his M.D in 2016, and completed his residency at the prestigious University of Rochester in 2021.

With his schedule filling up quickly, Dr. Manning is taking on many facial cosmetic surgical procedures including rhinoplasty, facelift, browlift, eyelid surgery, chin augmentation, fat grafting, lip lift, brow reduction, otoplasty, and scar revision. He will also be offering Deep Neck Contouring, a dynamic neck slimming procedure (new to our practice). Dr. Manning recently spoke on the simple procedure to help reverse signs of aging in the neck area on the television show, Good Things Utah. Beyond facial plastics, he is extensively trained in hair transplantation and eager to take on cases with both men and women, including beard and eyebrow transplants. Patients are also able to schedule appointments with Dr. Manning for injectable treatments like Botox or fillers, another area he enjoys and is highly skilled in.

Not only is Dr. Manning gifted in the field of medicine, he is also a musician and plays the acoustic guitar. In fact, he performed in a bluegrass band at a dinner theater in eastern Idaho for many years, (see his acoustic skills on his Instagram @dr.jamesmanning). Being a husband and loving father of 2 with another on the way, Dr. Manning enjoys being active with his family and playing sports in his free time. Surgery is this impressive M.D.’s passion and he has found great satisfaction participating in medical missions (many of them alongside Dr. Thompson), treating children with congenital malformations in Guatemala and Ecuador. Being a fluent Spanish speaker, Dr. Manning takes joy in connecting with patients and families on his medical missions and is excited to continue serving members of the Latino community here in the Salt Lake region.

Dr. Manning believes plastic surgery should subtly but effectively accentuate the defining features of each patient in a way that elevates and builds confidence, and that surgical and non-surgical treatments work in harmony in the achievement of these results. His outlook falls in perfect alignment with UFP’s core values, making Dr. Manning a perfect fit and powerful addition to our team of medical and aesthetic experts.

Whether you are interested in hair restoration, surgical procedures or non-surgical procedures, you can trust Dr. Manning to provide the highest quality of medical care and expertise.
