Avoid blood thinners (e.g., Aspirin, Ibuprofen, Aleve, Motrin, Vitamin E, Fish Oil, Garlic, Ginseng, St. John’s Wort, Ginko Biloba, and Primrose oil) for 1 week prior to treatment.
Refrain from alcohol 1-2 days before treatment to reduce the risk of bruising.
Bruising and swelling are common; plan your procedure 2-3 weeks before any important events.
No dental work 2 weeks before your injection.
Arnica can be used before treatment to help minimize bruising; we offer several options at our office.
Arrive with a clean, makeup-free face if possible.
We cannot treat pregnant or breastfeeding patients.
Eat before your appointment to reduce the risk of light-headedness or fainting during treatment.
Post Care
Avoid strenuous exercise for 24 hours after treatment.
Continue to avoid blood thinners for 1 week after treatment. Arnica or Alastin’s Enhance Post Injection Serum can help reduce bruising.
Wait at least 4 hours before applying makeup; ideally, wait 24 hours.
Refrain from alcohol for 1-2 days if bruising occurs, as it may worsen.
Contact the office immediately if treated areas become red, hot to the touch, or turn white days after treatment.
Avoid applying firm pressure and DO NOT massage treated areas.
Follow-up appointments are typically scheduled 1 month apart, but your treatment plan may vary based on individual needs.
